The
first thing that calls your attention of the village
is its main access road from Palma. Known as the
"all road to Sineu" calls on its historic
importance, noble and royal remeneces, as well as
the rural scent.
This road is the only one that comunicates Palma
with the heart of the island of Mallorca, with crossing
any village up to its end in Sineu.
Two special points that should call our attention
are, the unmistakeable architectural stayle of the
Medieval Mallorca and also the warmeness of its
people.
Sineu is the capital of the spring festivals. On
every may 1st, Sineu gathers the highes amount of
people for its anual fair. This fair, mainly for
cattle and agriculatural products, turns the village
in a big party, the major econmial trade for the
economic and social development of the villages
of "es pla" takes place.
Its a previlege enheritet from the King Pere VI
of Aragon and that gives us an idea of the economial
importance of Sineu as geographical center of Mallorca.
Additional to the annual fair the Easter celebrations
have also made Sineu famous around the Island. Many
devoted gather around and share their faith and
wait for penitents that give away candy.
Sineu is still a historic Warehouse preserving is
highness as a Royal Village since the kings of Mallorca,
Jaime II and Sancho stablished their residence in
it. Its a rural village very proud of its traditions
and to be the heart of the Island of Mallorca.
During
the year 2003 it is forseen that a train connects
the village with the heart of Palma.
